Primark Haul

Hey guys!

I did a little poll over on my twitter page asking what you would like to see me pst about next and those who voted chose a haul, so here it is! You'll find my twitter link in the home bar above my posts if you want to go and take part in my next poll be sure to follow!

I was in Primark recently, or Penneys as it's called in Ireland where I'm from, and I went a little mad on the whole  spending front. In my defence I only bought practical things I knew I'd wear and things I 'needed' for the upcoming season. I know it is technically already spring but its still freezing cold and raining here so we haven't been able to put away our winter woolies yet.

The first thing I picked up was this pretty simple cardigan in a nice light brown, easy to pair other items with and good for a spring or summer evening that gets a bit chilly. At €16 I thought it was a good buy!

Next up, when I walked in I saw this really cute high neck sleeveless top and i thought it would be perfect for casual days or I could dress it up too if I wanted to. It was only €5 so I wasn't going to say no!

I wanted to find something that was a green colour to wear with jeans, something super casual and comfortable - just my style. So when I saw this top I thought it was prefect for just that! super soft material, baggy and comfortable. A perfect casual staple for the wardrobe and it was only €6!

I then saw this really pretty, burnt orange coloured long top, with two slits going up the sids so you can see the tops of whatever trousers or skirt your wearing with it and I thought it was just perfect for this time of year, because its warm enough to wear on its own but you can pair it with a jacket or cardigan if its chilly. This was €10.

When I saw this shirt I almost died, I have been looking for a good black and white flannel shirt for ages!! I couldn't find any anywhere, so I was thrilled when I saw this in Penneys. Its big and flowy, comfortable and so perfect with a black or white top underneath and some jeans! LOVE! This was only €13 too, such a steal!

After wondering around the tops for a bit i ventured into the PJ section and I saw this set, which I thought was just super cute, it's light for spring a summer and it was only €7! It came with little plain black cropped trousers but I forgot to put them in the picture - sorry!

So I'm sure like most of you ladies out there you need yo stock up on cotton pads and lashes from time to time, right? Well that is exactly what I did here! Cotton pads were €1 each and the lashes were only €3.50. Where could you go wrong?

Next I was a little naughty and made my way to the shoe section... I just couldn't not go have a look. I didn't intend on buying any but my shopping brain had other ideas. So i picked up these van-like shoes, they are block and have a kind of snake-skin, suede vibe to them. I thought they were perfect chill out shoes ant they were only €7 so I wasn't going to leave them behind!

So if I'm honest I did actually want to buy the next pair of shoes I got, simply because one of my friends, Sam of www.samantha-loves.com got the same pair in the tan colour and I fell in love with them so I had to pick up a pair of my own, they are only €11 and so great for this time of year!

The last pair of shoes I got are these really pretty burnt orange pair and I thought they would go perfectly with the top i had picked up in the same colour. So pretty and very spring-orientated. These were €9, so not expensive at all!

That's it guys! That is everything I recently picked up at Primark/Penneys when I decided to go down and splash out a bit...you gotta do it every now and again!

I hope you all really enjoyed this post, let me know what your favourite item is down in the comments and what you thought of it! Be sure to follow my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages for updates on new posts coming soon!

Negativity

Hi guys, welcome back to my blog.

Today I wanted to have a little rant about negativity and what it can do to people if its allowed to spread, nothing beauty or fashion related but it is lifestyle related and I wanted to talk about it because I know we all face different kinds of negativity every day.

It could be as small as someone telling you you look tired that day or it could be something big, like if someone were calling you overweight, underweight, bullying you or treating you like your less of a person than they are, like your not as important in the world. I know we have all faced these things in life and I wanted to write about it today because it has been really bugging me lately. In my head, being nice is not hard. All being nice takes is a smile, a compliment, even a hug sometimes.

You will all be able to relate to what I'm saying, because you all have that one person in your life who you know will take all of the negativity out of your day and make you smile. It could be your best friend, your boyfriend, a family member or even your pet. it doesn't matter who this person is, it only matters that you have them, they are a rare find in life, some are lucky enough to have more than one of these people in their lives. It's tough when you find yourself surrounded by negative energy to be optimistic about your day, or your week for that matter, but I am writing this post so that when you read it you know that there is always someone on your side, if you don't have anyone in the immediate facility, then you can remember that I am on our side, I do not believe in negativity, so you always have me.

Negativity can be soul crushing and we cannot let it hurt us or undermine us from our dreams or our goals in life. Some people in the world are just not happy with keeping their negative thoughts to themselves, we see it everyday, everywhere we go and I believe the world would be a better place if people just thought about how their negative words or behaviour affects other people around them. I'm not saying that everyone should be positive all the time, I know that's not really possible, but I am saying that people, including you and me, should try their best not to put someone else down, not to be rude or mean to anyone. I know this can be tough when tempers rise and people are frustrated, but think of how much of a positive effect you would have on someones day if you took some of the things you say and stopped saying them. Calling people names and yelling at someone is not how you get them do do what your asking or to be your friend, saying please, thank-you and being nice can.

I will admit, because I'm not perfect, I do loose my temper sometimes and I am rude or impolite, I'm human so I know that its ok to have days like that, but if you have a day where negativity has just taken over, say your sorry to anyone you may have hurt. An apology can go a very long way, we should use them more often.

We all know what it feels like to get put down or be bullied in some way, so why would we afflict that sadness or pain on to someone else who may not deserve it? No one deserves to be treated like they are not important, because we are all important. I want anyone who reads this to remember, you are special, no matter what anyone says, you are important and your goals and dreams are just as important as anyone else's.

I'm sorry for the rant, but I need to get that out today, if you guys would like to know what I do to deal with negativity or how I try to keep it out of my life then comment below and let me know, I can do another post on that.

I hope I helped some of you today and I hope I've inspired you to be a little kinder to those around you. We all have to live together, so getting along wouldn't be the worst idea.

Talk soon!

Being A Blogger Is Not What I Expected

Hi guys, I know I haven't been active on my blog for quite a while... sorry about that, but to be honest, it's not what I expected at all. I'm not saying that I expected to be bombarded with followers and opportunities to make me rich or anything, but I thought making the commitment to writing a post once a week or talking about a topic on the world wide web that was itching at me would be so much easier than what it has turned out to be.

I'm a pretty normal person, I go to college and I work, like most twenty-somethings like me, but I found it increasingly difficult to bolg about anything. When I started last year in March I thought it would be easy and it went well for me for the first couple of weeks or months but then it got harder and harder to think of what to talk about or do. I found that I didn't know what to write about, what do you talk about when potentially millions of people, or in my case maybe ten, have the chance to read what you've said? Does that not just live in your mind and turn the whole idea of blogging into a harrowing experience? Just me? I know that I want to do this, because to tell you the truth I like writing and talking about things that interest me, like fashion or beauty or everyday topics, but I find it so much easier to talk about these things than I do to actually write them down or type them out.

Please tell me I'm not alone here! There has been countless times where I have thought of something that in my mind would make a good bolg post and that I myself would like to read but then when it comes down to sitting on my laptop for a period of time during the day I just cant make any sense of what i am trying to get out onto the page. It's almost like I stop myself from doing it for some unknown reason. Maybe I have serious commitment issues towards my laptop and it's surrounding environment.

Anyway, my point is... I find this whole thing hard, and it shouldn't be, its not like I'm Zoella and have the pressure of making sure a blog, or video in her case, goes up, although serious snaps for that girl, I don't know how she does it! I'm finding this hard and I don't want it to be hard, I want it to be fun and a form of emotional therapy or an escape for me, so that is what I am going to view it as from now on, my escape. I want to continue the blog for that reason and if I make some friends or get great advice from another Internet user along the way then those shall be perks of the whole experience.
In conclusion, I want my blog to be somewhere I, or anyone else can go and relax and maybe get a little giggle out of how horrifically unorganised my entire life is. So I'm back, and I want to stay back. I don't know when you can expect to see the next post from me but don't fret because it won't be too far away!

Thank you for reading my rant, and especially if you got to the end, your amazing!

That's all for now.
Talk soon.

New Purchases

Hello Everybody!

Welcome back. I have a fun post for you guys today, as you all know, I am a bit make-up mad and I've bought a few new things both this month and last that I've been trying and I thought I'd let you know what I thought of them. I'm super excited to share this with you all!

So, without further ado, the first things I'm going to talk to you about isn't something I bought myself, my sister got them for me while she was away. I've been wanting to try them since I saw some of my favourite YouTuber's talk about them in their videos. The Two Faced Chocolate Soleil matt bronzing powder in medium to deep which Kathleen Lights mentioned in a few of her videos. I really love this bronzer, which is also a great contour, I use it pretty much everyday! Plus it smells like chocolate so who wouldn't love that? If you can get your hands on this I highly recommend purchasing it! I will defiantly be ordering more when I run out!

The second thing I got from my sister was the Two Faced better Than Sex Mascara. I saw Zoella talk about this mascara a while ago in one of her favourites videos and I was dying to try it out for myself so when I got the chance I was super excited! It is an amazing mascara and I really like how it looks on my lashes, it gives them amazing length and volume, which I love! You must try this mascara if you can, I really liked how it looked and I'll need to buy another one pretty soon, because I wear it every day!

Next is another mascara I purchased myself, I'd been seeing it everywhere and a load of people had been raving about how good it was, so naturally I had to get it and see what all the fuss was about. It's the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and when I say wow I mean wow with this mascara. In the descriptions I read on the box and online, the mascara is supposed to give your lashes that perfect curled effect and it couldn't be more true. I love how it makes my lashes look separated and natural but still long and gorgeous. Defiantly a must buy!

So, a few months ago I saw Tanya Burr raving about this eyeliner and I wanted to get it and try it, especially because I thought it would look really nice on me because my eyes are blue and its a lovely golden brown colour. t's the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Smog. I'm not much of a liner person but this is the creamiest most amazingly textured eyeliner I've ever had, it glides on so easily and can be blended into the perfect brown or gold smoky eye look. I really like the eyeliner, I don't wear it all the time, but when ever I do I'm never disappointed with the look.
Next thing is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Soft brown. It's something I've been waiting to try for months, everyone has been saying how good it is and I was dying to get my hands on it so when I finally did I had no hesitation with putting it straight on! It is a very creamy consistency and a little goes a long way with this product, so be careful not to use too much or your brows will be having a bad day. Light brush strokes are best with an angles brush, I use the Inglot 17TL, but any angled brush would do. It's a great product and I would really recommend it, just get the right colour for you!

As if all the above wasn't enough I also got two of the brand new nail polishes from Suzanne Jackson's SOSU line. I picked up the colours Rock Candy, a very pretty baby pink perfect fr summer time and Serial Shopper a beautiful coral colour which would be great on holiday with a tan. They don't go on super smoothly, but I must admit I'm not the most talented when it comes to painting my nails. The colour is so pigmented and vibrant, really nice and they don't chip easily or come off either. They are a bit pricey if your buying more than one but they are worth money if you ask me.

The last thing I got was the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which I use to take off my make-up everyday. I had been using a facial wash, but it left my skin feeling really dry afterwards and I was getting fed up with having to use so much moisturiser, which made my face oily and sticky. So I found this alternative, I just use it on cotton pads and gently wipe off my make-up from all over my face. It works like a dream and I have fallen in love with it, I don't think I'll ever use anything else, it does a great job of cleaning my face and I recommend it for all of you to try. Let me know what you think!

That's everything guys, I really hope you liked this post, let me know what you thought and if you've tried these products let me know how you liked, or didn't like them. I hope your having a great day, I'll talk to you all soon.

Thanks for stopping by

Belated April Glossybox Unboxing

Hello everyone!

Before I start this very late post I want to say sorry for being off the grid lately, I've been so busy this past month that I haven't had time to post anything. I am always on my Instagram or Twitter, so if you ever want to ask me any questions or see what I'm up to you can follow me there!

Ok, so with my guilt out of the way lets get into my April Glossybox (I know it's super late!) April was the month of the Iconic Edit and Glossybox brought out four different coloured boxes, all with Marilyn Monroe on the cover. I received the blue box and inside there was a quote by Rita Hayworth saying "One of the secrets of real beauty is simplicity" which I really liked. Inside was five great products and I was super excited to try them out.

The first thing that caught my eye was the Astral Original Face and body Moisturiser, if you read my favourite beauty products post you'll know I'm all about the moisture! I wasn't expecting much from this moisturiser, but I was totally blown away by how great it made my skin feel, its super thick and really hydrating, I would recommend you try it if you love the feeling of hydrated skin all day - who doesn't? It's an iconic product that's been around since the 1950's so its a must try!

Next was the lippy, the Lord & Berry Lipstick Pencil in 'Kiss'. Again if you've been reading my blog you'll know that I love lip products, so I was so excited to try this out. I wouldn't say its the perfect Marilyn red, like the description does but it is a beautiful, matt orange-red colour that is more than perfect for this time of year. Applying it is simple due to it being a pencil, you can be precise and fill in your entire lip as well with one swipe. The matt texture is a little bit drying but you can help it by applying lip balm under it or to give it a shine, lip-gloss on top.

Keeping with the iconic theme, there was also a eyeliner in April's Glossybox, the POP Beauty Kajal Eyeliner Pen. Really creamy texture and very pigmented, brilliant for creating that cat-eye we all spend hours trying to perfect! However it doesn't smudge very well under the eye and tends to rub off throughout the day, so not the best long-wearing liner. I'm not much of a liner person, but I did like the consistency of this product, I just wish it was more long-wearing.

I was excited about the Model & Co bronze Shimmer that I received in my Glossybox because I love bronzing up my face, as I'm quite pale so that summer glow really helps me out this time of year. It's not only a good bronzer that you can apply with a big fluffy brush to wake your face up a bit, it is also a great contore, which is important in a good bronzing powder. It has a subtle hint of gold shimmer in it to give your face that perfect summer glow without becoming Edward Cullen from Twilight and is really easily blended. I really liked this product, I recommend you try it if your on the hunt for an inexpensive bronzer.

Lastly, I received the Nougat London Luscious Lip Balm also. I love my lip products, no matter what kind, but I was quite disappointed with this one, it smells amazing and its very thick but it doesn't really give the moisture to your lips your looking for in a balm, its hard to lift it out of the pot with your finger and nearly no product comes up. I really had to dig my finger into it to get enough product to apply to my lips. Maybe its just me, but I thought this product was a no-go and wasn't impressed. Let me know if you've ever tried it, if so, did you like it?

Thanks for stopping by everyone, I hope you enjoyed this post.

MAC Lipstick Collection

Hello Everyone!

I hope your all well and having a wonderful day. Today I thought I'd show you all my MAC lippy collection as it stands to date. I don't have a huge amount but I have a fair few and plan on buying more when I can afford to, because I do adore MAC lipsticks. All together right now I own eight MAC lipsticks and I love them all! I have two Amplified, two Cremesheen, one Matt, one Luster, one Glaze and one Satin. For those of you who don't know what I mean by these terms, let me explain. MAC have a load of different lipsticks and they all come with different textures, so these terms describe the textures, it's not the name of the lipstick.

Hopefully this post will help some of you with deciding on which MAC lip products to go for if you are just starting to get into the brand or make-up.

Let's start with the Cremesheen's. First is Modesty. a great everyday nude shade with a pinky-brown undertone, I love me some pinky nudes and this one is a perfect warm nude that you can wear all year round. The next Cremesheen I own is a new one I recently got from the store because I was looking for a good nude that would be perfect for this time of year and summer, so I chose Japanese Maple. It is the perfect spring or summer nude with a really pretty peach undertone. I love it! I really like the Cremesheen's because they are super creamy and hydrating on the lips, a perfect starting point for MAC lippy newbies!

Let's talk about MAC Amplified lippy's next! I only have two at the moment, first is Up The Amp which is a really nice light pinky-purple shade, that I like wearing on nights out with a nice simple smoky eye or winged liner. The other Amplified I have is Girl About Town. I think a vibrant pink is something every girl needs in her lippy collection and its great for this time of year and for party nights! I recommend picking this up if you want something that will really nice this spring or summer.

The Matt I have is from the Viva Glam collection and its number 3, a really dark, vampy brown that is oh so wonderful in autumn or with a really minimal look to make it pop! Although it says it's matt I think it has a little shine to it, as well as being creamy it also has a delicious amount of hydration for the lips, which is always good in a matt lipstick. I also have it a Satin called Rebel, the typical vampire plum colour every girl needs to own during the autumnal months. I don't really wear this lipstick much during this time of year, just because it is so dark and vampy, I don't really think it suits that spring feeling.

My Favourite MAC lipsticks are my Luster and Glaze ones, just because they are pretty much 'your lips, but better' and I love them for everyday use. My Luster is called Lovelorn, a very pretty pale pink with undertones of peach and my Glaze is called Hue, a great peachy nude that will go with any make-up look or skin tone. Defiantly one of my favourites and a perfect starting point for a MAC lipstick beginner.

So that's it guys! I know I don't have a lot, but I thought it would be interesting for you all to see my collection and it would hopefully give you some ideas of what MAC lippy's you want to get next, or if your a beginner, where to start.
Tell me in the comments which MAC lipsticks I should go for next and which ones you love the most!
If you want to see more of my make-up collection or favourites let me know!

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring & Summer Nail Trends

Hello Everyone!

I hope your all having a great day and keeping well! Sorry I've been M.I.A for a few days, exam season is upon me so you will have to bare with me, until mid-May, then I'm all yours! Keep an eye on this space, I have lots of exciting reads for you coming up pretty soon that I am very excited about and can't wait to share with you all!

Today's post is 'Trend' related, nail trends specifically. I noticed a few of these during the various fashion weeks around the world, in magazines and on-line. I also put in some that I think will be super cute and popular for spring and summer - let me know if you agree.

It's going to be no surprise to any of you when I say pastels and bright colours are the way to go when you want your nails to look super chic and on trend this season. It's spring, what else did you expect? I was coming through the LOOK magazine's website and they had some amazing spring and summer nail colours to choose from.

The Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Pain in 'Eat My Dust' is most certainly one you'll need this season. A beautiful duck egg blue colour which just screams spring and summer to me! I love this nail polish, Barry M are one of my favourite brands when it comes to painting my nails, although a little pricey, you definitely get your money's worth. The only bad thing i could say about this product is that you may need more than one coat of polish on the nail. It honestly is a great nail product.

A cheaper but equally as beautiful is the Model Own Nail Polish in 'Peach Icing'. Probably my favourite out of each product I'll mention in this post. The colour is fantastic and it is just one of the most on trend colours that I have been seeing on People like Tanya Burr, Meghan Rinks and Victoria from Inthefrow. You can rock this polish with or with out a tan and it is so perfect for this time of year, simple yet pretty and girly. If you cant already tell, I'm kind of in love with it. You do need more than one coat, depending on how much you want the colour to stand out, but what nail polish goes on with one coat? I have yet to find one!

Next I saw this great turquoise, blue/green colour and it is the OPI Infinite Shine Nail Lacquer in 'Withstands The Test of Thyme'. For those of us who like to have more of a statement colour on our fingers for spring and summer this gorgeous OPI polish is perfect. It can be worn as an all day look or as a summer night out look, it fits any occasion and has that great OPI quality that so many of us are drawn to. All round great spring/summer must have this year!

As well as these great colour trends for spring and summer there were also some really pretty and unique nail looks floating around fashion weeks and the internet that I thought I'd share with you all and maybe give you some ideas for painting your nails this season!

This is my personal favourite of the bunch. The blurred brush strokes with pastel colours running through is really unique and chic. It has all aspects combines and still manages to look stylishly messy on the nail. You can create this look by pouring small amounts colour on a plate and using a cotton bud or old toothbrush to flick them on the nail, depending on how small or big you want your patches of colour to be. You could even crate the same look with bolder or darker colours for a stand out, statement nail! Let me know what you come up with!

Next is this amazing, perfectly imperfect ombre mani, which is so cute and can be used this season as a great statement nail for when your going somewhere like a spring or summer wedding, a big night out with the girls or on date nights. You can use any colours you like and layer them over one another to create this look, I especially love the gold on the tips, I think it gives the nails such a classy, stylish finish. What do you all think?

Last, but not least, is this really simple grey and navy look. Great for those of us who don't have time to do much with our nails but still would like a nice, classy look for our fingers. I love this last one, it's just so easy and simple to do, it would take ten minutes and you'd have a great spring or summer nail trend ready to go! You can use what ever colour combination you'd like, layer those beautiful spring pastels or those summer bold's. the possibilities are seriously endless with this nail look. The best part is that it isn't restricted to this time of year, like all of the other looks. With a simple change of colours these looks can be used year round!

I really hope you all enjoyed today's post and that it gave you some helpful information for how to style your nails this season! Let me know which colours and look is your favourite and which you'd like to try. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments below and be sure to follow me for more beauty trends!

Thanks for stopping by!
